Dear Esteemed Readers,

Wow — what a ride it’s been these past few months! No wonder it’s been half a year since my last blog post. Many of you have asked me when I’d be writing again, and honestly, it’s taken me a while to find the words.

Without diving into every twist and turn, I’ll simply say that the past months have tested me deeply. Yet, I’m genuinely grateful for every moment of pain and discomfort — because each one came with an invaluable lesson tucked inside. [Y]

To those I’ve met during this time — thank you! Your gentle presence, your passion, and your kindness helped me more than you probably realise. Our time together reminded me what it means to feel safe, cared for, and connected — all of which helped calm my nervous system and nurture my healing.

The woman writing this today feels happier, stronger, and wiser than ever. She’s ready to surf whatever waves life sends her way — the highs, the lows, and everything in between.

And that brings me to today’s reflection: boundaries — especially [colour=red]the fine line[/colour] between professional and personal relationships in this world we share through AdultWork. [;)]

In this post, I want to explore that delicate balance between professional and personal relationships — particularly within the unique setting of our AdultWork (AW) meetings. I know there are countless other platforms out there, but since I’ve only ever had one profile (yes, you will find me EXCLUSIVELY on AW!), I’ll keep referring to these as AW meets.

By nature, these encounters are intimate and deeply human. That intimacy can easily blur boundaries if we’re not mindful, yet beneath it all lies something essential — a professional relationship. Some might call it [colour=red]"transactional,"[/colour] but I find that term too cold. I prefer professional, because professionalism can exist hand-in-hand with empathy, respect, and warmth.

If we don’t distinguish the difference between professional and personal space, confusion can arise. Those who have met me know I’m naturally kind, tactile, and deeply invested in making our time together memorable. But the key to keeping it special is mutual respect — knowing when to connect, and when to give each other breathing room.

Even after an incredible, soul-stirring encounter, you’ll never find me sending clingy or unsolicited messages. It’s not about indifference — it’s about preserving the healthy rhythm that keeps things mutually fulfilling.

I also want to take this moment to apologise to those of you who may have heard me overshare about personal matters in the past. I’ve since realised that blending personal and professional worlds can sometimes cloud the very energy that makes these meetings so positive. Like anyone, I’m learning — growing more mindful of what to hold close, and what to share. [Y]

Let me share a story (with permission) from one of my clients. He used to meet a lady in Kent quite frequently. She was stunning, well-dressed, and charming — and after his divorce, he decided to see her exclusively.

Interestingly, research supports this balance between care and professionalism.

So, as I move forward with more gratitude, lightness, and self-awareness, I carry these lessons with me — both in my personal healing and my professional encounters.
