Before Lola Locket existed, there was just Rebecca
A woman trying to navigate life while carrying more than most people ever saw.
Lola wasn�t created overnight. She wasn�t a character I simply decided to become. She was born from a chapter of my life that changed me. A time filled with loss, reflection and the realisation that life is far too short to keep waiting for the �right time� to start living.
Within a short space of time, I experienced several bereavements that left their mark on me. Losing people close to me changed the way I viewed everything. Grief has a way of making you stop and question what really matters. It makes you look at your own life and ask yourself whether you�re truly living, or simply existing.
At the same time, I found myself stuck in a job that no longer fulfilled me. The routine, the expectations and the feeling of being trapped in a life that didn�t feel like my own began to weigh heavily.
I knew something had to change.
For years, I had been the person who did what was expected. The person who put responsibilities first, who carried on regardless and who often put her own happiness at the bottom of the list.
But after experiencing so much loss, something inside me shifted.
I started to believe that life wasn�t meant to be lived cautiously all the time. That we shouldn�t spend our entire lives waiting for permission to be ourselves.
And that was when Lola was born.
Lola Locket became the part of me that dared to step outside the lines. She represented freedom, confidence and the choice to live life on my own terms.
She was the woman who embraced adventure. The woman who stopped apologising for wanting more. The woman who decided that pleasure, connection and experiences were not things to feel guilty about.
Lola was my free spirit.
My reminder that I was still alive.
She carried a hedonistic energy, not in a reckless way, but in a way that celebrated enjoying the moment, embracing desire, meeting people from all walks of life and refusing to let fear make decisions for me.

The losses I endured didn�t break me; they changed my perspective. They reminded me that tomorrow is never guaranteed, that time is precious and that happiness is something we sometimes have to choose for ourselves.
