In my own mind, whatever the result, I've won.
Over the past four years, I've used the awards to give myself a focus for my work. With so much going on in the rest of my life, I needed that focus. This year I've had a good push on work since I won my last award in October 2025.
I'm not really sure what the value of any award like this is and how you actually quantify them. I guess the odd award can be something of a fluke, but multiple awards tend to suggest that there's something behind it, such as some hard work. ;-)
My reference to winning whatever the result is more of a reflection of my life and where I am in it. I made some good decisions back in October and changed the way that I work. I can happily say that it's paid off both financially, and also most importantly quality of life.
I do hope that everyone in our category walks away from the awards feeling like winners, and if not, know that there is someone there to talk to. I have accumulated a good selection of emotions and experiences from awards over the past few years and I put together a document about winning whatever the result.
