It's Barbecue time in the hot sun! (July 11, 2022)
It's well-known that the best factors required for a barbecue are barbecues, beer and sunshine. Pairing these elements can be as complex as pairing wine with food. Although quality white or red wines are perfect for barbecues, others like for example home made cider which is absolutely delicious and requires way less fuss in making and serving. For those more beer-inclined people, sparkling apple cider is the better choice because it has higher acidity which creates a better overall taste experience than beer.
Remember your visits to Chinese buffet restaurants in the early evening weeks before barbecues with dinner there! The success of a barbecue is dependent on environmental factors such as the weather, wind and ground temperature. The best time for barbecues is during the summer and autumn months when there are typically warmer temperatures. This is because warm temperatures allow food to cook faster, resulting in more flavourful food that dries out less. Some of the primary precursors of a successful barbecue are the grill, meat and vegetables. Barbecuing typically refers to cooking food over an open fire with dry wood or charcoal, though some prefer gas grills.
When barbecuing, food is cooked on a grate above hot coals or embers. The heat source can be natural gas, wood or charcol and the type of fuel used will determine how long the food needs to be cooked and also partly the taste. Basting is a technique of moistening food with butter, oil, or a flavoured liquid such as herbs or vinegar before cooking. It helps seal in juices and keeps the food from drying out during cooking. Bastings are usually made with a brush and are typically used on meats and vegetables, for grilling, pan-frying, or roasting.
Who doesn't like barbecue and beer in the hot summer weather? Who is brave enough to fire these two favourites up to unleash their crisp smoky aromas and tantalizing flavours on a grill and in a glass of wine or cocktails? Once they are done, we can indulge in the rewards - tender meat, cooked just right with its signature charred bottom, shredded beef sandwich with yellow cheese oozing out from the edges of the bun, and the best part, crispy bacon! 1. Beef brisket 2. Pork loin chop
But the barbecued items don't have to be limited to steak and chicken only. With some imagination you can create heavenly delicacies like prawn skewers, Indian kebabs, Korean squid salad, American ribs, Aberdeen Angus steaks! It's not just meat that can be barbecued. You can also barbecue vegetables and even fruit like lemons, limes and apples. So get yourself a barbecue and invite some family and friends around. Enjoy the scorching hot temperatures that are here now and for the next few days.
